Job summary

RTX is seeking a Test Qualification Lead for onsite work in Tucson, AZ. You will plan and execute environmental qualification campaigns to meet MIL-STD-810 and program-specific requirements, interfacing across engineering, labs, and management.

You will lead TRRs, manage anomalies, analyze test data, and drive corrective actions while mentoring junior engineers in environmental testing best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum eight years of technical/engineering experience.
• Experience with environmental qualification requirements or MIL-STD-810.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of environmental qualification test activities (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, altitude, E3).
• Develop environmental test plans, procedures, and reports per military/industry requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface between engineering design, test labs, systems engineering, and program management on qualification tests.
• Review environmental requirements and ensure proper allocation, verification methods, and test coverage.
• Generate environmental test configurations, setups, and instrumentation plans; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) with configuration control and safety compliance.
• Manage environmental test anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Interpret test data and document results in formal customer-ready reports.
• Provide guidance on environmental qualification strategy, tailoring, and compliance approaches.
• Support risk management, schedule development, cost estimates, and resource planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in environmental testing.
