Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Test Qualification Lead to plan, execute, and document environmental test campaigns ensuring MIL-STD-810 compliance. You will collaborate with design, labs, systems engineering, and program management to qualify products for defense programs.

Candidates should hold a BS in engineering, have 8+ years in environmental testing, and be prepared to obtain DoD security clearance. The role is onsite with TRR leadership and risk-management responsibilities; RTX offers

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math or other related engineering disciplines.
• A minimum eight (8) years of technical/engineering experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of environmental qualification test activities (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, altitude, E3).
• Develop environmental test plans, procedures, and reports per military/industry/program requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface between design teams, test labs, systems engineering, and program management for qualification test matters.
• Review environmental requirements and ensure proper allocation, verification, and test coverage.
• Generate environmental test configurations, setups, and instrumentation plans; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and ensure configuration control and safety compliance.
• Manage environmental test anomalies and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Interpret test data and document results in formal customer-ready reports.
• Provide guidance on environmental qualification strategy, tailoring, and compliance approaches.
• Support risk management, scheduling, cost estimates, and resource planning for testing activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in environmental testing.
