Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks a Remediation Branch Technical Environmental Specialist (E7) to serve as a senior advisor for program development and high-level technical decisions within IDEM. You will interact with internal teams and external stakeholders, guiding complex regulatory interpretations and policy implementation.

Role involves mentoring staff, developing SOPs, conducting audits, and coordinating inter-branch projects.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations to provide technical recommendations.
  • Ability to manage several projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in policy development and SOPs is a plus.
  • At least two years in supervisory capacity or leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior environmental technical advisor for program development and operations.
  • Coordinate with branch and section chiefs to provide technical and program expertise for staff issues.
  • Research complex problems and provide guidance to senior management.
  • Plan and conduct assessments, audits, and staff reviews for technical quality.
  • Provide sampling method advice and assist in project design and QC data review.
  • Review regulatory issues from staff and regulated community and advise.
  • Act as liaison and subject-matter expert representing IDEM externally.
  • Develop implementation strategies to achieve compliance and provide training.
