The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) seeks a licensed engineer to review permit applications and remediation designs under 327 IAC 19, with occasional site visits to ensure compliance. The role supports remediation projects and ensures protection of health and the environment.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least four years of experience, with a valid Indiana license and strong written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to review plans and specifications for treatment and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan Review: perform detailed engineering reviews and on-site inspections to ensure compliance with state guidelines.
• Permit Review: evaluate permit applications, plans, specifications, and design summaries for regulatory compliance.
• Surveys/Inspection: conduct surveys and investigations, collect data, prepare reports and provide testimony as needed.
• Technical Assistance: review plans and specifications to identify deficiencies and propose sound alternatives.
• Enforcement: advise on technical issues, prepare enforcement documents, and testify when required.
• Customer Service: respond promptly to public, consultants, and officials.
