Job summary

HF Sinclair in Artesia, NM is seeking an Environmental Specialist to conduct environmental assignments for the Environmental Department under minimal supervision. Directs or leads the work of others from time-to-time.

A minimum of eight years of job-related processing experience is required, with refinery air quality expertise preferred. A Bachelor's Degree in environmental sciences or related field is required. Strong knowledge of NESHAP/MACT/NSPS and regulatory reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of air quality laws and regulations (NESHAP/MACT/NSPS) and state/local rules.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet regulatory deadlines in a refinery setting.
• Experience collaborating across operations, engineering, maintenance, legal and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assignments for the Environmental Department with minimal supervision.
• Provide guidance on Title V air permit compliance, monitoring requirements, and reporting.
• Oversee or assist with budgeting related to air quality compliance and contractor work.
• Coordinate modeling and tracking of anti-backsliding provisions and fuels regulations.
