Job summary

Rockland Trust is seeking an experienced Environmental Risk Analyst to join our risk team in Boston, MA. This role focuses on assessing environmental risks tied to commercial real estate lending and shaping environmental considerations during loan origination.

The ideal candidate brings deep consulting experience in site assessment, remediation, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders and influence lending decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in environmental investigations, risk management, or loss prevention in CRE contexts.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM due diligence standards and U.S. environmental regulations in New England.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental due diligence reviews for commercial real estate transactions.
• Provide risk analysis and guidance to lenders and underwriters.
• Review Phase I and Phase II ESAs and remediation reports for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
• Collaborate with consultants, legal counsel, and borrowers to clarify technical issues.
