Job summary

Rincon Consultants is seeking a Supervising Senior Environmental Planning Manager to help grow our environmental and long-range planning practice in Southern California. You will oversee complex contracts, lead CEQA efforts, and manage client relationships while guiding multidisciplinary teams.

The role blends leadership with technical work, emphasizing staff development, staffing, and new business opportunities in the LA and SD markets, with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Environmental Planning or related field.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible environmental planning and consulting experience.
• Deep knowledge of CEQA and leading complex environmental review documents.
• Strong client management skills and ability to navigate high-profile issues.
• Established relationships with municipalities, agencies, developers, or partners in LA or SD.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
• Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large, complex environmental planning contracts (scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality).
• Lead CEQA compliance from strategy through approval.
• Manage high-profile client relationships and provide strategic guidance on CEQA and land use.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide QA/QC for deliverables.
• Coordinate with public agencies and participate in meetings/hearings.
