Job summary

Rincon Consultants is seeking a Vice President of Environmental and Land Use Planning to provide strategic leadership for a large environmental consulting practice in Southern California. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, drive business growth, client service excellence, and manage complex environmental programs while guiding proposal development and risk management.

The role requires mentoring leaders, building strong client relationships, and expanding market presence.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Planning, or related field.
• 20+ years’ senior-level experience in consulting, project delivery, and business development in Southern California.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects, navigate regulatory frameworks, and deliver strategic solutions for clients.
• Deep CEQA environmental review documentation and land use planning experience.
• Proven track record of building long-term client relationships and securing repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Review and optimize group organizational structure and develop the next generation of leaders.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent for environmental and land use practice.
• Mentor senior staff on business strategy, technical leadership, and client management.
• Lead succession planning for long-term practice sustainability.
