Job summary

Rincon Consultants, Inc. seeks a Senior Environmental Planner / Project Manager to lead environmental planning across California, managing CEQA/NEPA documentation, coordinating teams, and guiding clients through regulatory processes. The role emphasizes clear, defensible reports and proactive project oversight.

You will oversee small-to-moderate projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with agencies and stakeholders, with a hybrid office/remote setup within California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Studies or allied field; advanced degree a plus.
• 5+ years of environmental planning and CEQA/NEPA experience in California.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and synthesizing technical information.
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead CEQA/NEPA documents preparation and review, including studies and EIRs/EISs.
• Direct project research, analysis, and mitigation development with defensible findings.
• Coordinate technical specialists and oversee QA/QC, schedules, and budgets.
• Lead agency consultations and regulatory discussions for permitting compliance.
• Prepare materials for agencies, decision-makers, and community stakeholders.
