Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner to lead NEPA/MEPA documentation and permitting efforts across a range of clients in New England.

The role combines project leadership with hands-on planning and environmental analysis in a collaborative, hybrid work environment. The position requires a strong background in environmental consulting, at least 5 years of experience, and a degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in environmental planning, urban planning, environmental science, or related field.
• Strong understanding of NEPA and MEPA in transportation/DOT or similar projects.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in environmental consulting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee NEPA/MEPA-related analyses and reviews.
• Coordinate with clients and manage environmental projects including subconsultants.
• Drive business development: scopes of work, fee estimates, schedules.
• Review environmental studies prepared by others and ensure quality.
• Prepare environmental documentation and presentations.
• Manage scopes and budgets across diverse resource groups.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, public workshops, and hearings.
