Job summary

AES Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana (with Dayton, Ohio travel) seeks a senior environmental construction permitting professional to lead permitting activities for transmission and distribution projects. This role requires seven years of related experience and strong regulatory knowledge.

You will coordinate consultants for Phase 1/2 ESAs, permit packages, stormwater, and other regulatory submissions, while developing programs and maintaining strong agency relationships to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of seven years of environmental permitting experience in Indiana and Ohio.
• Experience with CWA 404/401, nationwide/permitting, stormwater and floodplain permits.
• Familiarity with RTE species, MBTA, ESA, BGEPA, NHPA and related regulations.
• Experience with ASTM E1527‑21 and related permitting frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting activities for large transmission and distribution projects in AES Indiana and AES Ohio.
• Coordinate environmental consultants for Phase 1/2 ESAs, natural resources, and permit packages.
• Develop and enhance permitting programs and standards for prioritizing and obtaining permits.
• Interact with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure full permit compliance and reporting.
