Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to support permitting, natural resource assessments, and regulatory coordination for linear infrastructure across New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic region. The role involves leading permit applications with NJDEP, USACE, and USFWS, and coordinating with clients, engineers, and project teams.

You will conduct wetlands delineations, habitat assessments, and impact analyses, while managing field investigations and subconsultants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, Geography, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of environmental consulting, permitting, or regulatory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting environmental permitting for linear infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support environmental permit applications with NJDEP, USACE, and USFWS.
  • Develop permitting strategies to support project development and construction schedules.
  • Coordinate and track permit approvals and regulatory commitments.
  • Oversee wetlands delineations, stream and open water assessments, and habitat evaluations.
  • Prepare environmental impact analyses, permit exhibits, and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate environmental field investigations and manage subcontractors.
