Job summary

Stantec’s Environmental Services practice seeks a Senior Acoustical Consultant to support our expanding environmental noise, vibration, and acoustics (NVA) practice in the U.S. Gulf or Mountain regions.

You would collaborate with scientists and engineers supporting clients across sectors including renewable energy, power, data centers, oil and gas, site development, transportation, and federal markets. This role offers a hybrid schedule with two office days per week and is located in multiple

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental acoustics/noise assessments.
• Experience with acoustic measurement practices, software, and instrumentation.
• Experience with acoustical modeling software (CadnaA) and tools (GIS, AutoCAD).
• Experience managing multiple projects in a client-facing role.
• Experience reviewing local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel for field work (multi-day trips).
• Experience with vibration, hydroacoustics, TNM modeling, or building acoustics is a plus.
• Familiarity with Matlab/Python for data processing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage noise/acoustics projects from proposal to completion within schedule and budget.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to field, analysis, modeling, and report prep.
• Conduct field measurements, technical analyses, modeling, and reporting.
• Analyze acoustical modeling results and document findings in technical reports.
• Present at public meetings and serve as expert witness for acoustics projects.
• Contribute to proposals with task scopes and cost estimates.
• Maintain professional growth via seminars and affiliations.
