Job summary

Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a privately held US brokerage. We seek a Senior Environmental Markets Broker with established coverage in Carbon, LCFS, RECs and CCAs to join a flexible-location team.

You will build and manage a profitable brokerage book, coordinate with utilities and trading houses, and navigate evolving regulatory environments, while benefiting from an autonomous, supportive platform.

Qualifications

• Established brokerage experience within at least one relevant environmental commodity market.
• Backgrounds may include Carbon allowances and offsets, LCFS credits, Renewable Energy Certificates, CCAs or associated products.
• Proven record of generating revenue and maintaining active commercial relationships.
• Established network among utilities, trading houses, energy companies, corporates, project developers or other environmental market participants.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory and commercial framework governing your specialist market.
• Ability to provide informed and reliable market colour rather than purely transactional intermediary.
• Collaborative and willing to work across biofuels, RINs and other related desks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a profitable brokerage book within one or more environmental commodity markets, including Carbon, LCFS, RECs and CCAs.
• Facilitate transactions between utilities, energy companies, renewable fuel producers, trading houses, financial participants, project developers, corporates and other compliance market participants.
• Provide accurate bids, offers, price discovery, market colour and commentary across your specialist environmental markets.
• Maintain and expand established client relationships while introducing new counterparties and sources of liquidity.
• Monitor regulatory, legislative and market developments that may affect pricing, liquidity and client requirements.
• Help clients navigate the commercial implications of changing compliance obligations and environmental market structures.
• Work with the firm’s RINs and physical biofuels brokers to identify relevant cross-product and cross-client opportunities.
• Coordinate with operations and compliance teams to support client onboarding and the efficient execution of business.
• Influence the future direction of the environmental platform, including product expansion and additional hiring where appropriate.
