Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead sustainability programs, ensure compliance with laws, and improve environmental performance. The role covers water management, habitat restoration, reclamation, ISO 14001 certification, and waste management to support mine planning and permit updates.

The position supports a vision of safe operations, sustainable legacy, and a collaborative, high-performing team across the Cortez operations in Nevada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology or Geology) is required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years demonstrated environmental experience is required.
• Minimum five (5) years mining experience (open pit and underground) is required.
• Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience is required.
• Experience working on public land is required.
• Experience engaging with U.S. agencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage all environmental programs and compliance for open pit and underground mining operations.
• Communicate with departments and government agencies on environmental compliance matters.
• Manage key environmental aspects related to water, waste, air quality, lands, and reclamation/closure.
• Oversee preparation of environmental reports and documents for regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate with Corporate permitting to incorporate operational perspectives into large-scale permitting activities.
• Track permit renewals and regulatory proposals.
