Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead sustainability programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive environmental performance at the Cortez site. The role focuses on water management, waste handling, reclamation, and ISO 14001:2015 certification.

The incumbent will oversee permits, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and guide the environmental department’s budget while mentoring staff and integrating operational perspectives into large-scale permitting activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline as listed.
• Minimum 10 years of environmental experience.
• Minimum 5 years in mining (open pit and underground).
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working on public land preferred.
• Experience engaging with U.S. agencies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage all environmental programs and compliance for mining operations and environmental reporting to management and regulators.
• Coordinate with departments and agencies on environmental compliance matters.
• Manage water, waste, air, lands, and reclamation programs and budgets.
• Oversee environmental reports and technical documents for regulatory submissions.
• Develop and guide Environmental Management System alignment with ISO 14001:2015.
• Mentor environmental staff and support policy implementation.
