Job summary

P&C Recruiting and HR is seeking a Senior Environmental Coordinator to join our client’s mining team in Nevada. The role emphasizes complex environmental oversight with significant independent judgment and decision-making capabilities.

The coordinator reports to the Environmental Manager and will support a broad range of regulatory compliance tasks. Responsibilities include implementing programs, reviewing compliance data, and developing improvement plans.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or technical degree in environmental, biological, or earth sciences.
• 7+ years of environmental and management experience in mining or related industries.
• 5–10 years of environmental experience at an operational mine.
• Working knowledge of Nevada environmental regulations.
• Proficient in GIS mapping.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement environmental programs to document compliance with laws and permit stipulations.
• Assist in reviewing compliance, data trends and reporting.
• Help develop and communicate improvement plans for environmental management.
• Provide input to planning and response for environmental issues and concerns.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor environmental aspects of capital projects.
• Ensure resources for on-time completion of capital projects.
• Ensure compliance through inspections and audits with timely corrections.
• Assist with environmental management system implementation.
• Supervise and develop Environmental staff.
• Conduct field monitoring of air, water, wildlife, soils, vegetation, and archaeology; develop sampling routines and QA procedures.
• Assist in preparing permits, studies, or regulatory reports.
• Develop and update monitoring/reporting protocols per statutes and regulations.
• Supervise external contractors/consultants on environmental and reclamation projects.
• Provide Environmental training to staff as requested.
