Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our Environmental Services Engineering team in the Kansas City area. The ideal candidate will lead or support a variety of environmental projects, including stormwater management, remediation, and water treatment systems, while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

The role demands strong problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills, with travel expected up to 25% for project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering program.
PE license is required.
7 years of environmental or civil engineering experience.
Experience overseeing construction and knowledge of construction methods.
Travel up to 10% for project requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with project management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design environmental systems and facilities.
Lead or support environmental or civil projects.
Prepare reports, studies, and cost estimates.
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety and client expectations.
Oversee construction and prepare CQA reports.
Deliver internal and external presentations.
Mentor staff and develop client relationships.
Other duties as assigned.
