Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager in the Environmental Services Global Practice to support the Environmental Engineering team located primarily in Kansas City, Omaha, and Oklahoma City.

The role involves developing and profitably managing multiple clients and projects, proposal development, scope and fee definition, and guiding staff through technical work while coordinating with regulatory agencies. Travel up to 25% and a PE license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or related program required.
• Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience; 10 years preferred.
• Experience with business development, client maintenance, and proposal development.
• Experience with project management, environmental regulation, and agency coordination (EPA, state agencies).
• Experience executing civil/environmental engineering methods and preparation of bid-ready designs, plans, specs, estimates and reports.
• Experience directing and reviewing work by junior engineering staff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of permitting processes and construction compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; valid driver's license; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Seller-doer with experience developing and profitably managing multiple clients and projects.
• Proposal development, marketing, defining scope of work and fees.
• Develop client deliverables and provide technical guidance to staff.
• Negotiate with regulatory agencies and lead QA/QC tasks.
• Manage subcontractors, contracts, schedules and budgets.
