Job summary

Altria Client Services in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to join the Safety, Health and Environmental team on a hybrid schedule. You will lead environmental compliance programs across facilities, focusing on hazardous materials transportation, SDS development, training, and permitting to support responsible operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in environmental compliance, consulting or manufacturing.
• Experience supporting air, water, waste, spill prevention, chemical management, or permitting programs.
• Experience with hazardous materials transportation and SDS development is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and wear PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazardous materials transportation compliance and training.
• Develop and maintain Safety Data Sheets for transportation and product development needs.
• Create environmental training, procedures, and communications for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Serve as facility environmental engineer for Richmond-area locations in partnership with site leadership and SHE teams.
• Support air, water, waste, spill prevention, and other environmental programs.
• Evaluate environmental impacts of new products and operations and identify permitting/monitoring needs.
