Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an Environmental Project Manager at our Arizona site. The role provides technical leadership for environmental projects and programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operations at the Miami smelter and rod plant.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, regulatory documentation, and project management for environmental initiatives, with opportunities to guide site strategy and budgeting. A strong engineering background with PM experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and five years of Environmental Management experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering and three years of Environmental Management experience.
• Experience with regulatory documentation and project management.

Responsibilities

• Determines and assesses environmental risk and develops regulatory documentation of results.
• Performs hazardous waste site inspections and recommends action per regulations.
• Reviews and develops recommendations regarding expansion/modification/closure affecting discharges, emissions, and hazardous materials.
• Serves as Project Manager or technical expert on large environmental projects.
• Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• Provides guidance to site management on applicable programs and regulations.
