Job summary

Earthjustice seeks a collaborative and experienced Senior Attorney to join our enforcement group. The role shapes strategy, leads federal enforcement campaigns, and builds infrastructure to support enforcement work across offices. You will lead cases, manage dockets, coordinate with technical experts, and mentor junior staff.

This hybrid role requires two days in an Earthjustice office weekly. You will work with communities, Tribal entities, and partners to advance environmental protection

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required.
• Admitted or willing to seek admission to practice law where located.
• Eight+ years of experience litigating complex matters, including e-discovery and trial.
• Ability to develop cases, manage a docket, and lead a team.
• Ability to work effectively with technical experts.
• Strong research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build coalitions and partnerships.
• Experience mentoring and training others.
• Professional relationships to advance enforcement goals.

Responsibilities

• Case development and litigation: investigate, develop, and pursue enforcement cases with clients and partners.
• Lead complex cases, including discovery, motions practice, oral argument, and trial.
• Collaborate on litigation strategy, project management, and trial work.
• Cultivate allies and maintain coalitions with Tribal entities and community groups.
• Build enforcement infrastructure: strategic planning, metrics, and resources.
• Train Earthjustice staff in enforcement strategies and litigation skills.
• External engagement: develop media and legislative strategies and engage journalists.
