Job summary

Earthjustice in New York, NY, is seeking a senior attorney to join its enforcement group and lead the development and litigation of federal environmental enforcement cases nationwide. You will report to the Director of Enforcement, help shape strategic plans, train staff, and collaborate with clients, tribes, and coalitions while maintaining the highest professional standards in a mission-driven environment.

This hybrid role requires two days per week in-office.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and bar admission in any location.
• At least eight years litigating complex matters, including e-discovery and trial.
• Ability to develop cases and lead a litigation team.
• Strong research, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work with technical experts and build coalitions.
• Commitment to public interest work and Earthjustice mission.
• Willingness to travel as needed for case work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and litigate enforcement cases with clients and partners.
• Lead complex litigation tasks from discovery to trial.
• Collaborate on litigation strategy, project management and trial work.
• Train Earthjustice staff and mentor junior attorneys.
