Job summary

Earthjustice, a leading environmental law organization, seeks a Senior Attorney to join its Enforcement group. The role focuses on developing and litigating federal enforcement cases to hold polluters accountable, with cross-organizational collaboration and mentoring across offices.

The Senior Attorney reports to the Director of Enforcement and helps shape strategic plans, train staff, and engage with communities and partners.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
• Bar admission or willingness to seek admission to practice law where located.
• At least eight years of experience litigating complex matters including e-discovery and trial.
• Federal environmental enforcement litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to develop cases, manage a docket, and lead a litigation team.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and litigate enforcement cases with clients, attorneys, experts, and partners.
• Lead complex cases across discovery, motions, oral argument, and trial.
• Collaborate on litigation strategy, project management, and cross-team problem solving.
• Build and engage coalitions with tribal entities, community groups, and partners.
• Train Earthjustice staff in enforcement strategies and litigation skills.
• Engage media and inform legislative strategies with communications teams.
