Job summary

Earthjustice, a leading environmental law organization, seeks a Senior Attorney to join its Enforcement group. The role focuses on developing and litigating federal enforcement cases to hold polluters accountable, with cross-organizational collaboration and mentoring across offices.

The Senior Attorney reports to the Director of Enforcement and helps shape strategic plans, train staff, and engage with communities and partners.

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
Bar admission or willingness to seek admission to practice law where located.
At least eight years of experience litigating complex matters including e-discovery and trial.
Federal environmental enforcement litigation experience strongly preferred.
Ability to develop cases, manage a docket, and lead a litigation team.
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and litigate enforcement cases with clients, attorneys, experts, and partners.
Lead complex cases across discovery, motions, oral argument, and trial.
Collaborate on litigation strategy, project management, and cross-team problem solving.
Build and engage coalitions with tribal entities, community groups, and partners.
Train Earthjustice staff in enforcement strategies and litigation skills.
Engage media and inform legislative strategies with communications teams.
