Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Principal Engineer, E&E Engineering to lead the design and qualification of electronic components and systems. You will coordinate design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of hardware to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.

Requirements include a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5–8 years of experience, DO-0169 qualification, PCB design, and project management. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree with 5+ years in Electrical/Electronics engineering is acceptable.
  • 5+ years of experience with DO-0169 Environmental Qualification.
  • 4+ years of experience with Electrical Design.
  • 3+ years of PCB Design.
  • 2+ years of project management.
  • Non-US person must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuring work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
  • Research, develop, design and test electrical components, equipment, systems and networks to ensure that business objectives and required specifications are met.
  • Prepare engineering sketches of specifications to construct, relocate or install equipment, facilities, products, or systems.
  • Prepare documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.
  • Perform engineering work and applied research, development and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met.
