Job summary

Coeur Rochester, based near Lovelock, Nevada, is seeking a Senior Environmental Coordinator to lead complex environmental oversight at the Rochester Mine. This role reports to the Environmental Manager and focuses on compliance, data analysis, and improvement planning across environmental programs.

The ideal candidate holds a BS/MS or technical degree in environmental sciences and 7+ years in mining environmental management, with strong GIS, regulatory knowledge, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or technical degree in environmental, biological, or earth sciences with 7 years of environmental and management experience in mining or related industries.
• Alternatively, 12 years of equivalent environmental management experience.
• 5–10 years of environmental experience at an operational mine.
• Working knowledge of Nevada environmental regulations and GIS mapping.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement environmental programs to comply with laws, rules, and permit stipulations.
• Review compliance data trends and assist in improvement planning.
• Develop, communicate, and implement environmental management plans.
• Plan and monitor environmental aspects of capital projects.
• Supervise environmental staff and provide training as needed.
• Conduct field monitoring of air, water, wildlife, soils, vegetation, and archaeology.
• Prepare permits, studies, and regulatory reports related to environmental compliance.
• Oversee external contractors on environmental and reclamation projects.
