Job summary

The Travelers Environmental group provides environmental liability coverage for manufacturers, labs, colleges and contractors. The Account Executive Officer for Environment partners with agents and brokers to tailor coverage for new and renewal business, using strong risk assessment and relationship-building to drive profitable growth.

The role involves travel to meet external partners and to develop strategic sales plans with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in environmental liability.
• Deep knowledge of environmental liability products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking and risk analysis aligned with our risk appetite.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external partners by meeting with agents and brokers to market Travelers products; travel as needed.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans; partner with MD to develop regional plans.
• May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
