Job summary

AEI Consultants in the Northeast region is seeking a Senior/Principal environmental consultant to lead site mitigation projects, oversee subsurface investigations, and guide regulatory negotiations.

You will mentor staff, manage scopes and budgets, develop proposals, and contribute to business development while maintaining technical quality and profitability for AEI's Site Mitigation Division.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience as an environmental consultant with project management
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong business acumen
• Entrepreneurial spirit; self-starter with attention to detail
• Senior level understanding of environmental contamination; transaction-related project management a plus
• Understanding of project budgeting and operational finances a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead senior technical guidance on subsurface investigations and remediation projects.
• Review environmental reports and guide proposal development.
• Serve as SME for environmental regulatory programs across multiple states.
• Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on projects involving regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate on technical and regulatory matters.
• Manage scopes, schedules, and budgets and anticipate changes.
• Oversee and possibly manage complex investigations and remediation projects.
• Perform senior-level proposal and report reviews and similar deliverables.
• Interpret data and determine next steps with strategic insight.
• Prepare remedial cost estimates and environmental peer reviews.
• Maintain industry relationships and regulatory knowledge.
• Serve as a point of contact with regulators, clients, and counsel.
• Develop cost-effective paths to closure for diverse projects.
• Participate in regional/site mitigation leadership and expansion planning.
• Support business development and client relationship activities.
