Job summary

AEI Consultants is seeking a Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant to lead site mitigation efforts in the Northeast U.S. This role focuses on subsurface investigations, remedial actions, regulatory negotiations, and client communications, with national expansion opportunities.

The candidate will guide proposals, mentor staff, and oversee projects from Phase II to complex remediation, ensuring technical quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of environmental consulting experience with proven project management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong business acumen.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with growth contributions and self-starting initiative.
• Senior understanding of environmental contamination; transaction-related project management a plus.
• Understanding of project budgeting and operational finances is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming proposals and guide AEI’s sales team and clients.
• Review prior environmental reports and develop next steps proposals.
• Serve as SME for environmental regulatory programs in multiple states.
• Provide leadership and guidance on regulatory projects.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate on technical and regulatory matters.
• Manage project scopes, schedules and budgets; anticipate changes.
• Oversee and potentially manage Phase II to remediation projects with regulatory oversight.
• Provide senior level proposal and report reviews; write deliverables.
• Interpret data and determine next steps.
