Job summary

Pattern Energy is seeking a Manager of Environmental Compliance & Strategy to lead permit and regulatory activities for wind, solar, and transmission projects in the US and Canada. You will coordinate internal teams, consultants, and regulators to ensure full regulatory compliance and strong risk controls.

The role emphasizes program development, training delivery, and industry collaboration, with travel up to ~25% and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of experience in environmental, natural resources, or energy projects.
• Experience with wind, transmission, and/or solar permitting and compliance.
• Familiarity with US/Canadian environmental regulations and permit programs.
• Stormwater BMP design, implementation, and cost considerations.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional project teams and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental construction permit compliance activities with EPC and engineering teams.
• Coordinate environmental personnel, consultants, regulators, and local groups.
• Conduct compliance reviews, site audits, and root-cause analyses.
• Develop and implement environmental programs, procedures, and docs.
• Create and maintain project environmental compliance matrices.
• Deliver Environmental Awareness Training for staff and contractors.
• Coordinate with federal/state/provincial leads to resolve concerns.
• Budget for environmental support services and wildlife mitigation.
• Represent Pattern in industry groups and committees.
