Job summary

Pattern Energy is seeking an Environmental Manager to provide environmental and permitting support across wind, solar, storage, and transmission projects. The role focuses on assessing risk, obtaining permits, and guiding regulatory strategy throughout the development lifecycle.

With a minimum of seven years in environmental permitting and strong communication skills, you will manage consultants, coordinate budgets, and stay ahead of evolving regulations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in environmental permitting or related field.
• Experience managing multiple projects across development stages.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to travel to project locations.
• Background in environmental and permitting matters across varied regulatory regimes.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental studies and permitting for wind, solar, storage, and transmission projects, including coordination of regulatory strategies, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Assess environmental risks for development projects and communicate key risks, constraints, and mitigation recommendations to project teams and management.
• Obtain required environmental permits, approvals, and clearances from local, state, and federal agencies to support project development timelines.
• Supervise project environmental consultants, including managing scopes of work, task orders, schedules, budgets, work quality, and invoice review and approval.
• Conduct environmental due diligence for potential acquisitions and evaluate permitting, environmental, and regulatory considerations that may affect project value or development feasibility.
• Track pending local, state, and federal environmental regulations and policy developments that may impact Pattern’s business and development portfolio.
• Represent Pattern in industry conferences, working groups, and presentations to local organizations, agencies, and governments.
• Support broader project development activities as needed, including interconnection, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, design and E&C planning, asset monetization, project planning, and budgeting.
