Job summary

Phillips 66 in Roxana, Illinois, is seeking a Sr Environmental Specialist I to interpret regulatory requirements and guide refinery operations toward compliant environmental performance. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams, applying technical judgment and teamwork to real‑world challenges and drive air quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include leading Title V permits, tracking emissions, preparing reports, and coordinating with regulators.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of air compliance, air permitting, or related experience.
• Proficiency with EPA regulations including Title V, NSR/PSD, NESHAPS, NSPS, MACT.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain TWIC.
• Willing to travel up to 5% and operate company vehicle on-site.
• Willing to work extended hours in a refinery environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air compliance for refinery operations and ensure permits meet regulations and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations and interpret permit conditions.
• Lead Title V permits, renewals, amendments, and air impact evaluations for unit changes and projects.
• Monitor emissions, perform calculations, keep records, and report findings.
• Collaborate with operations, environmental teams, and regulators for inspections and corrective actions.
• Prepare air permits, reports, deviations, and supporting documentation for inspections.
• Support management of change by evaluating air impacts before implementation.
• Communicate regulatory updates and assist in air compliance training for personnel.
• Deliver compliant, cost-effective air solutions to maintain safe refinery operations.
