Job summary

AEP is seeking an Environmental Coordinator Senior to oversee implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, and corporate policies across the assigned region and facilities.

Responsibilities include training staff, coordinating with Environmental Services and contractors, and ensuring regulatory compliance in areas such as storage tanks, hazardous materials, waste management, spill response, air emissions, and site assessments.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in environmental, science, or related discipline.
• Eight years environmental experience with an associate degree or six years with a bachelor's degree.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement environmental activities to ensure regulatory and company policy compliance.
• Provide training and guidance on environmental requirements and develop training materials.
• Support in releases or discharges, agency notifications, and cleanup coordination.
• Promote safe work practices to protect employees, contractors and the public.
• Support environmental compliance reviews and site assessments.
• Coordinate responses to public inquiries and communicate compliance issues internally.
• Maintain environmental documents and contracts with Environmental Services contractors.
