Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Project Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist to join our Environmental Compliance team in Southern California. You will manage environmental compliance, permitting, site assessments, and remediation programs across diverse industries.

Lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with clients and regulators, and contribute to business development. Strong communication and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in environmental consulting with a strong background in environmental compliance and remediation.
• Professional certification preferred (PG, PE, QISP, CHMM, or similar).
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations governing environmental compliance, site investigation, remediation, and waste management programs.
• Experience supporting or managing environmental due diligence, Phase I and Phase II ESAs, investigations, and remediation projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage complex environmental projects with senior-level technical analysis.
• Develop environmental permitting and regulatory strategies for various projects.
• Prepare and submit permits and compliance programs for air, wastewater, stormwater, and other media.
• Interface with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients.
• Lead and develop a team of environmental professionals.
• Prepare proposals including scope and fee development.
• Manage multiple projects with budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
• Identify and pursue new client opportunities and participate in industry organizations.
