Job summary

A well respected national law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Sr Attorney or Partner to join its Environmental Law group. The role focuses on advising clients on environmental laws, managing inspections, and addressing enforcement actions, while leveraging connections to generate new work.

Candidates should have eight+ years of experience in environmental or water law for public or private clients, and be capable of handling litigation and complex regulatory matters with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 8+ years environmental/water law experience for public/private clients
• Public sector experience with Brown Act knowledge preferred
• Experience assisting in discovery and pleadings for litigation at state agencies
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Ability to interface with clients and develop strategy with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel clients on environmental laws and regulations
• Manage inspections and enforcement actions
• Handle permits, fines, and related regulatory matters
• Develop plans and strategies; take ownership of matters
