Ideal candidates have a JD from a top-tier law school, DC bar admission, and 5–7 years of experience in environmental regulatory matters, CERCLA, and RCRA, with a track record in enforcement and transactions.

Qualifications

  • JD from a top-tier law school.
  • Active Bar Admission in DC, in good standing.
  • 5–7 years of substantive experience in environmental regulatory compliance and enforcement matters.
  • Familiarity with CERCLA and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Experience with hazardous, solid, medical, pharmaceutical, and/or controlled substance waste issues preferred.
  • Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and communication skills, with ability to manage multiple complex matters.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on compliance with major federal and state environmental statutes, including CERCLA and RCRA.
  • Represent clients in environmental enforcement proceedings and negotiations with regulatory agencies.
  • Counsel clients on environmental aspects of transactions, due diligence, and risk management.
  • Draft and review environmental reports, submissions, and compliance documents.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, including technical consultants and environmental engineers, to develop strategic solutions to complex issues.
  • Support environmental litigation and administrative proceedings as needed.

This position offers the opportunity to advise leading corporations and institutions on complex environmental compliance, enforcement, and remediation matters under federal and state laws.

Candidate Profile
  • JDfrom atop-tier law schoolwithexcellent academic credentials
