Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time or equivalent experience in environmental science or related field.
• At least three years in a professional capacity and one year in supervisory/administrative role.
• Proficiency in solid waste regulations, bidding, contracts, and enforcement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessment activities, including permit reviews and inspections for compliance.
• Review permit applications and investigate complaints for regulatory compliance.
• Train and supervise Solid Waste staff; prepare inspection and enforcement documents.
• Monitor Springfield MRF operations and municipal contracts; analyze production data.
• Conduct outreach to municipalities, schools, and the public on solid waste issues.
