Job summary

Resource Options, Inc. is seeking a Solid Waste Inspector to support Massachusetts facilities—transfer stations, landfills, recycling, and composting—bridging field inspections with detailed reporting and regulatory filings.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology, 3+ years in inspections/reporting, MassDEP Third-Party Inspector certification, and strong regulatory communication skills. Salary range $90,000–$130,000 yearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related field.
• 3+ years of solid waste inspections, reporting, operations, and/or permitting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct solid waste facility inspections and prepare detailed compliance reports.
• Support MassDEP annual reporting and Quarterly MPS reporting.
• Assist with preparation of technical reports and permit applications (Operations and Maintenance Plans, Waste Ban Compliance Plans, Closure Plans, Site Suitability).
• Contribute to MEPA filings (ENF, EIR, NPC) and regulatory documentation.
• Communicate with clients and regulatory agencies to support compliance and permitting.
• Manage inspection schedules and meet regulatory reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support field operations and office reporting.
• Provide general compliance support including data tracking, quality control, and process improvements.
