Job summary

LyondellBasell seeks an Environmental Engineer (Air) in Deer Park, TX to maintain and optimize air permits for a major chemical facility. You will manage NSR, MSS, and Title V permits, interfacing with EUCs and TCEQ to ensure permit action readiness and compliance.

The role requires strong project management, regulatory experience in Texas, and collaboration across engineering and operations to achieve permit compliance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience creating and submitting NSR air permit applications in Texas for refinery or chemical facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of Non-Attainment NSR, PSD, Netting, and Title V permits is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication with regulatory agencies and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit amendments, renewals, and alterations to NSR and MSS air permits.
• Manage Title V Federal Operating Permits including revisions and renewals.
• Collaborate with Environmental Unit Contacts to identify permitting needs and information requirements.
• Interface with TCEQ personnel during permit applications and respond to deficiency notices.
• Lead or coordinate with consultants for ambient air dispersion modeling.
