Job summary

LyondellBasell in Victoria, TX is hiring an Environmental Engineer to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The role covers air emissions, water systems, and waste management, working closely with operations, maintenance, and regulatory agencies to maintain permits and improve performance.

You will own environmental programs, lead permit activities (NSR, Title V), prepare reports, mentor staff, and drive continuous improvement across the South Texas Polymer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ environmental experience in refining or petrochemical facilities.
• Experience with air, water, and waste regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing Texas environmental permits from application through issuance.
• Experience working with regulatory agencies and representing a company during inspections.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of environmental programs.
• Serve as the site's environmental SME.
• Coordinate with plant personnel on regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to agencies.
• Lead compliance with MON RTR requirements.
• Identify projects to improve environmental performance.
• Review environmental performance data for improvements.
• Participate in On-Call rotation for HSES needs.
• Present HSES topics to new employees.
