Job summary
NBCUniversal is seeking a Technical Manager – Entertainment Technical to lead planning, execution, and delivery of entertainment projects at Universal Studios Hollywood. You will coordinate with Entertainment, Technical Services, Creative, Operations, Safety, vendors, and regulators to ensure safe, on-time, high-quality productions.
The role provides technical leadership through design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and operational readiness, upholding codes, standards, and budgets
Qualifications
- Degree in theatre production, entertainment tech, construction/project management, or related field.
- 7+ years in special events, theatrical production, or related environments.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing projects and teams.
- Experience delivering complex entertainment projects with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, development, and execution of entertainment projects and seasonal activations.
- Develop strategies to meet creative, operational, financial, and schedule goals.
- Direct technical aspects from concept to turnover to operations.
- Identify risks and drive mitigation to protect scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide technical leadership across show, electrical, audio/video, and related systems.
- Coordinate reviews of design packages and vendor deliverables.
- Develop technical solutions aligned with creative intent and operations.
- Ensure documentation and CAD/design support as needed.
- Maintain schedules, staffing plans, and resource requirements.
- Communicate status, risks, and milestones to leadership.
