Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team remotely, guiding enterprise infrastructure across 80+ sites in North America. You will architect, implement, and optimize hybrid environments, with emphasis on cloud adoption, security, automation, and scalability.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and drive major modernization initiatives while ensuring reliability and performance. A strong background in AD, M365, Azure, and virtualization is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required.
• Eight or more years of progressive IT experience, including five or more years of advanced systems engineering experience.
• Advanced systems and cloud certifications preferred (examples include Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, VMware, AWS).
• Extensive experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Entra ID, and enterprise identity management solutions.
• Strong experience with VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Veeam, and other enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with automation, scripting, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Lead complex infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
• Architect and support hybrid environments with AD, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cloud services.
• Provide advanced escalation support and technical leadership for IT operations and service delivery teams.
• Communicate status, risks, and technical solutions to management and stakeholders.
