Job summary

WRITER, an AI platform for ambitious marketing and revenue teams, seeks a senior commercial counsel to partner with sales and procurement. You will draft and negotiate SaaS agreements powering growth and manage complex enterprise partnerships with a fast-paced, collaborative team.

You’ll lead deals in regulated industries, advise on privacy/IP/AI issues, and help scale contract processes while maintaining humor and low ego in a small, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• A law degree and admitted to practice law in the U.S.
• 7+ years negotiating commercial contracts, ideally at a SaaS company or law firm servicing tech clients.
• Experience contracting with large enterprise companies and strategic partners, including heavily regulated industries.
• Exposure to privacy, IP, and/or AI‑specific legal issues; basic understanding of AI.
• Experience using contract management tools to support data-driven legal teams.
• Familiarity with CLM tools like Asana, Salesforce, Linksquares.
• Strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, and a collaborative mindset.
• Business-minded lawyer who can explain complex legal concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate inbound and outbound commercial contracts including SaaS licensing and partnerships.
• Develop and manage contract templates and negotiation playbooks; improve sales contracting processes.
• Create processes that benefit the business (beyond legal) and support internal stakeholders as we scale.
• Support and train go-to-market teams with practical legal guidance.
