Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to build enterprise process improvement capabilities across the organization. You’ll collaborate with executives, operators, and technology partners to streamline work across functions and locations.

You will map current‑state processes, apply Lean and data analysis, and design future‑state solutions with governance, standard work, and performance measures. Travel up to 10–20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business, operations, organizational development, supply chain, or related field.
• Seven or more years of experience in process engineering, operational excellence, BPM, or project management.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical processes, plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience facilitating executive and cross‑functional discussions and influencing without authority.
• Experience leading organizational change, stakeholder adoption, and process implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise process improvement framework.
• Identify opportunities to improve cross‑functional processes, reduce waste, and strengthen handoffs.
• Partner with leaders to understand business needs, customer expectations, pain points, and outcomes.
• Map current‑state processes and analyze bottlenecks, variation, and control gaps.
• Use data, root‑cause analysis, Lean principles, and problem‑solving to identify opportunities.
• Build business cases, recommendations, and prioritized improvement portfolios for leadership.
• Design future‑state processes that improve efficiency, quality, consistency, and scalability.
• Develop standard work, role definitions, decision frameworks, and process controls.
• Establish performance measures, targets, ownership, and reporting routines.
• Collaborate with IT to evaluate automation, dashboards, and digital enablement.
• Facilitate workshops, process‑mapping sessions, pilots, and design discussions.
• Lead complex cross‑functional initiatives from charter through implementation.
• Coordinate plans, milestones, resources, risks, and adoption strategies.
• Apply change management practices to support alignment and sustained adoption.
• Coach process owners and teams in continuous improvement methods.
• Communicate results and scalable solutions to leaders and stakeholders.
