State Street seeks a highly experienced Corporate Functions Lead Software Engineer - VP III to design, build, and modernize strategic technology across HR, Legal, Audit, Compliance, Risk, Realty, and other Corporate Functions domains.

This role combines deep hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, setting standards, guiding solution design, mentoring developers, and delivering enterprise-scale applications and data platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 8+ years developing enterprise solutions using Java technologies.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting with strong architecture skills.
• Experience leading technical teams without direct management authority.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across Corporate Functions Technology.
• Define roadmaps, engineering approaches, and scalable solutions.
• Lead architecture reviews and design decisions for enterprise platforms.
• Drive API-first, cloud-native modernization and data platform initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering standards and practices.
