Job summary

L.A. Care Health Plan is seeking an Enterprise Integration Engineer II in Los Angeles to design and implement enterprise data integration, APIs, and SOA architecture. You will collaborate with business, application, and IT teams to build scalable integration solutions and governance artifacts.

The role requires 5+ years in data integrations, experience with SOAP/REST, microservices, HL7/FHIR, and AWS API Gateway. Strong collaboration, security awareness, and architectural thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years designing and implementing data integrations with Java, SQL, and modern tools.
• Experience with SOAP/REST, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI and API security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop integration and architecture to meet business needs with stakeholders.
• Enforce standards around technology stacks and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Guide in‑house development teams; create governance documents and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with senior architects on system architecture details.
• Provide design support for integration and workflow across IT areas.
• Build reusable integration services and canonical data models; design sync/async patterns.
• Support production incidents and optimize integrations.
