Job summary

Job Summary

The Enterprise Architect Integration Engineer II is responsible for developing standards, tools, and governance for capturing, storing, and delivering enterprise data integration. This position designs and builds L.A. Care's data API work and/or SOA architecture, working closely with business, application, and IT infrastructure teams.

Duties
  • Develop integration and architecture to meet business needs by collaborating with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Integrate IT solutions into a common framework; enforce standards around technology stacks and governing cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Support in‑house development teams with technical and management guidance; ensure compliance; create roadmap, architectural, process, standards, and governance documents.
  • Collaborate with program‑level architects on system architecture details for specific domains.
  • Work closely with IT functional areas to identify and resolve integration and workflow considerations and issues; provide overall system design and architecture support.
  • Build reusable integration services and canonical data models; design synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing data applications and integrations using modern development tools (Java, JSP, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server batch processes, etc.).
  • At least 5 years of experience building solutions with SOAP, REST API, microservices and relevant tools (Informatica IDMC/IICS, Oracle SOA suite, BPEL Process Manager, Mediator, Business Rules, Human Workflow, Oracle Service Bus).
  • Experience with JMS and messaging technologies.
  • Experience with Git-based source control.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and X12 EDI.
  • Experience with event‑driven architectures using Kafka or Pub/Sub platforms.
  • Expertise in managing, developing, and implementing AWS API Gateway, including configuration, security, performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience managing advanced technical resources.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building enterprise‑level canonical models.
  • Experience with multiple database platforms (NoSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, etc.).
  • Experience working with end users to gather requirements and build technical solutions from concept to implementation.

  • Develop data integration, API integration, and application integration architecture.
  • Integrate IT solutions into the Enterprise Data Management Cloud framework.
  • Develop SOA integration and business workflow architecture.
  • Integrate common SOA, BPEL, BAM, OSB, B2B, SQL, Core Java, and Service Gateway standards.
  • Triage production support L2 and L3 tasks, formulate strategies, design architecture for system integration, debug and advise on system errors or architecture issues.
  • Implement file, database, JMS, MQ, API, and web service integrations.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise APIs; implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API security standards.
  • Create Swagger/OpenAPI specifications; support API Gateway implementations and integrations.
  • Support automated deployments using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions; maintain branching and release strategies; develop deployment automation and environment configuration management.
  • Monitor production integrations and troubleshoot issues; perform root cause analysis; optimize SOA composites for performance and scalability; support production releases and incident resolution.
