Job summary

Tekvana Inc. is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Santa Clara team. You will build, oversee, and maintain infrastructure across global offices, labs, and data centers, collaborating with facilities, network, and end-user teams.

Daily tasks include maintaining servers, storage, and network gear, plus lifecycle management and documentation. You will partner with vendors and internal teams on construction projects, manage low-voltage deployments, and contribute to ROM/BOM, site

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, telecommunications consulting, construction project management, or low-voltage cabling installation.
Deep understanding of infrastructure, including network, compute, storage, power, and cooling systems.
Experience with server hardware troubleshooting and maintenance (e.g., Dell, HPE, Lenovo, SuperMicro).
Knowledge of network protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
Layer 1 Network Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve physical-layer network issues, including cable faults, connector integrity, fiber testing, and signal degradation.
Familiarity with monitoring, automation, and inventory tools (MAAS, Nautobot/Netbox) and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira).
Ability to go onsite multiple days per week and lift/install rack-mounted equipment.
Strong English communication and cross-time-zone collaboration.
Willingness to travel approximately once every few months.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations within offices, NERs, and labs, ensuring hardware and systems function properly.
Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, including Layer 1 connectivity.
Manage installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage, and network gear.
Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime.
Audit IT environments, manage assets, and clean up cabling.
Assist with monitoring tools; respond to alerts and incidents.
Coordinate regional Power Shutdown Events and run regional meetings.
Record site reports and hand over close-out docs to users.
Partner with facilities for low-voltage deployments and project design.
Produce construction docs and define equipment locations in racks.
Collaborate with vendors and manage SOWs for projects.
Maintain documentation for hardware configurations and procedures.
