Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Enterprise Desktop Engineer to design, automate, and optimize Windows desktop platforms across a large-scale enterprise. You will own application deployment lifecycles, partner with multiple engineering teams, and push for automated, reliable, and secure endpoint solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience engineering, administering, or supporting enterprise Windows desktop environments.
• Experience building, maintaining, or deploying Windows desktop images.
• Experience with application installation, packaging, configuration, deployment, or lifecycle management.
• Experience with PowerShell or another scripting/programming language.
• Must be TS/SCI w/ Poly security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Engineer enterprise desktop platforms by designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing Windows and thin-client images.
• Own application deployment and lifecycle engineering, from packaging and configuration through enterprise deployment, upgrades, and removal.
• Automate the work that should not be done manually using PowerShell and other scripting technologies to improve consistency, speed, and reliability.
• Solve complex technical problems by analyzing OS, applications, configurations, logs, authentication, networking, and system dependencies to identify root cause.
• Design and implement new capabilities that improve endpoint reliability, performance, security, and user experience.
• Partner across engineering disciplines to move technology from concept through implementation and into production.
• Continuously improve the environment, identifying opportunities to make enterprise endpoint operations smarter, faster, and more reliable.
