Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO is seeking a hands-on Principal Enterprise Architect to lead the senior architecture team and shape the multi-year roadmap across platforms, data, and cloud. You will drive modern patterns, establish ADRs, mentor architects, partner with engineering, product, security, and infrastructure, and ensure technology decisions align with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 12–15+ years in software/architectural leadership roles; 5+ years leading other architects or senior engineers.
• Proven experience delivering cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven systems at scale.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, service mesh, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and observability.
• Strong understanding of data platforms, event streaming, and API frameworks.
• Demonstrated success mentoring architects and leading teams.
• Strong communication and executive presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise architecture vision, blueprint, and multi-year roadmap.
• Lead patterns including domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven integration, cloud-native platforms, and API-first ecosystems.
• Head the Architecture Review Board; establish ADRs.
• Directly lead and manage a team of architects, coaching and career development.
• Foster architecture standards, reusable patterns, templates, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, and Infrastructure leadership to drive alignment.
